Presets, FavSlots & Playlists

Presets save and recall a scene's look, FavSlots give you one-click access to them, and Playlists sequence them into a show.

Presets

A Preset stores the current values for all controls within a scene, meta controls, and the currently active media.

  • Startup Defaults: You can designate any preset as your startup default for that scene in the preset menu.
  • Channels (Scene / Meta / Media): Each preset has three channels you can enable or disable, setting which banks it affects when triggered. A preset with its Media channel disabled won't touch your media controls or the active media file, so you can load a new scene look without switching your current media.
  • Overwriting: Saving a preset with an existing name will overwrite it.

Fav Slots

Fav Slots provide quick, one-click access to your favorite presets. - Assigning: Hover a slot and click the + to pick the preset you want it to hold. - Launching: Click a slot to instantly load its assigned preset. You can also map Fav Slots to MIDI or OSC for hardware triggering. - Managing: Hover an assigned slot to reveal × to clear it or + to swap in a different preset.

Playlists

Playlists are used to create automated or manual "shows" by organizing and sequencing multiple scenes and scene presets together. Playlists can be played automatically or triggered manually.

  • Scene-Preset Pairings: Each item in a playlist consists of a Scene and a specific Preset. When triggered Synesthesia will switch to that scene, if it isn't already active, and then launch the preset.
  • Countdown Timers: You can set individual durations (HH:MM:SS) for each item in a playlist.
  • Audio-Reactive Auto-Transitions: Enable the Auto-Transition toggle to let Synesthesia switch to the next playlist item based on a musical breakdown or drop.
  • Shuffle Mode: Toggles between sequential playback and randomized selection.
