Control Hotkeys
In the Synesthesia control panel, you can manipulate controls using hotkeys. These hotkeys allow quick, convenient access to common functions. They can also be used performatively — try pressing them in sync with the beat!

Selecting a Control
To use a control hotkey, you first need to select that control using your mouse. Selected controls are visually highlighted. You can either click on the control element itself or click on the label below it (this is useful for controls like toggle or bang that would be changed if clicked).
Once the control is selected, just press the key to execute the action.

Mouse & UI Modifiers
Synesthesia includes several shortcuts for precise or fast control manipulation:
- Shift-Click/Drag: Hold
Shiftwhile dragging any slider to increase its precision. This reduces the value's movement speed relative to your mouse, allowing for fine-tuned adjustments. - Middle-Click: Middle-clicking any slider or knob will instantly reset it to its default value.
- Digit Scrubbing: For numerical inputs, you can click and drag on individual digits. Dragging the higher digits (e.g., hundreds) makes large changes, while dragging decimal places allows for micro-adjustments.
- Relative Dragging: Sliders move relative to your initial click point. This prevents jumping when you click near a slider handle.
