All licenses are perpetual and never expire. Update renewals are optional and cost $60 for 1 year of the latest updates. You can always continue to use the software after your updates expire, but you will not receive new features. You can renew at any time to get access to the latest version plus another year of updates.
Note: Updates are currently free for all users as we are not actively enforcing time limits. At some point in the future we may activate paid updates, so we're giving users information about how the system will work, but for now all updates remain available for all users.

Standard licenses only allow you to activate the software on one computer at a time. If you need to transfer your license to a new computer, you can deactivate it on the old computer and activate it on the new computer. Pro licenses allow you to activate the software on two computers at a time, with additional activations available for purchase.

A license must be synced to the internet once every 30 days to remain active. A license automatically syncs on startup with an internet connection, or when you click "sync" in the Account tab.

Yes, licenses are cross platform and can be transferred from one machine to another at any time.

Yes, you can upgrade your license at any time for the difference in price. For example, if you have a $199 Standard license and want to upgrade to the $399 Pro license, you would pay $200 to upgrade.
